About
The Backyard is a family-owned outdoor dining experience in Ocoee that recreates the warmth and hospitality of a backyard gathering. Pull up to the house, enter through the side gate, and take in the landscape. Stop by the open kitchen and help yourself to a drink. Walk along the driveway and choose from our family of food vendors. Grab a seat on the covered patio, play on the lawn in the yard, or relax under the trees. Whatever you decide to do, just make yourself at home.
Our Why
While we are foodies and love a good upscale meal, we also really love a good, relaxing hang out spot. Someplace casual and inviting where no reservations are needed and you can show up as you are. We love spending time outdoors. We love relaxing, laughing, and catching up with friends and family. We really love getting our kids off their screens and playing IRL. We love good food and drinks. We love a good ambiance - whether it's live music wafting through the air or string lights twinkling as the sun goes down. Maybe it's one too many glasses of beer or wine, but places like this can have an almost magical quality. One where you look around and just appreciate life. Cheesy? Maybe a little. But our goal is to create a place for connection, relaxation, community, and fun. We hope you get a little of that when you visit us at The Backyard.

Guests can relax on the covered patio, enjoy open lawn seating, or grab a picnic table under the trees. Out in the yard we've got pergolas and large umbrellas to shield you from the elements!
Yes! The Backyard is a dog-friendly outdoor dining destination. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are always welcome.
We do not take reservations. All of our seating is first come, first served. For large groups and events, please send an email to events@thebkyd.com and we will be in touch to help you plan your perfect event.
Yes! The Backyard is located directly on the West Orange Trail between mile marker 9.2 & 9.3. We are two miles West of the Ingram Outpost in Ocoee and 2 miles East of Chapin Station in Winter Garden.
Outside food and drink are not permitted on our property. The Backyard has plenty of options of food and drink. We are sure you will find something for everyone!
Our parking lot holds approximately 50 cars and can get a bit crowded on weekends. Our friends at Lady Bird Academy a few doors down on West Road allow overflow parking on weekends and weekdays after 6pm. Please be respectful of their property. We encourage carpooling and rideshare!
